ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO INVITES THE PUBLIC TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH THREE SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS DISPLAYS

Essex County, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to celebrate the Fourth of July with three spectacular fireworks displays and exciting concerts by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in Essex County Branch Brook Park on Friday, June 27th, Stage Revolution: A Night of Rock in Essex County Weequahic Park on Tuesday, July 1st and The Infernos in Essex County Brookdale Park on Wednesday, July 2nd.
 
“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an outstanding line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said. “An evening in the parks with some of the area’s most talented musicians and our Spectacular Fireworks Extravaganzas are the perfect shows for Independence Day. Come out and celebrate your Fourth of July with us,” he added.
 
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Fireworks Display
 
Enjoy the sounds of the New Jersey Symphony under the stars! This free program features a medley of timeless classics, Broadway themes and patriotic favorites. Led by conductor Gregory D. McDaniel, the NJ Symphony will perform Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” the Overture to “William Tell,” Rodgers’ “Carousel Waltz,” highlights from “Wicked” and many more. In case of rain, the concert will be relocated to the Jim Wise Theatre in Kupfrian Hall on Summit Street on the campus of NJIT. The NJSO and Fireworks Display will be held as follows:

Stage Revolution: A Night of Rock
 
Vocalists Emilie Surtees and Marcus Simeone are two creative forces that came together to create a synergy of pure magic with the Stage Revolution Band. The catalyst for this union was the immense popularity of their musical tribute to timeless duets from the ‘60s to the ‘90s. They have performed at BB Kings Blues Club in New York City, the Resorts World Casino, Club Groove Bar & Grill in New York City and The Cutting Room in New York City. The Stage Revolution Band elevates and expands the repertoire of the timeless duets tribute in that they also perform classic R&B, soul, dance, jazz, pop and rock, contemporary and even some Broadway! Stage Revolution and the Fireworks Display will be held as follows:

The Infernos and Fireworks Display
 
Known as “America’s #1 Show Band,” The Infernos’ vast repertoire includes all genres of music including Big Band, Oldies, Motown and today’s top chart busters. Founded by the late Bobby Wells, former musical director of The Duprees, the band features the voice talents of lead singer Kenny Simmons. Simmons, formerly of The Commodores, brings a powerful voice and showmanship that is sure to engage the audience. The Infernos and Fireworks Display will be held as follows:

The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
 
Concerts are held at accessible sites. Individuals who require special accommodations or assistance are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs.
