Safety Reminder: Downed Power Lines

Downed power lines are extremely dangerous and should always be considered live.

Stay at least 30 feet away from downed wires, poles or anything in contact with them.

Immediately report downed wires to PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) via phone, mobile app, or website.

Dial 911 if there is an immediate hazard.

Never drive over or stand near downed power lines.

Be aware that downed wires may be hidden by snow or standing water. If you encounter large areas of standing water, stop, back up, and choose an alternate route.
