Residents who would like to vote by mail now have an easier way to apply—Vote By Mail applications can be submitted online through the New Jersey Division of Elections website.

1. Visit: https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote.shtml
2. Select “Request A Ballot”
3. Complete the Vote By Mail application online

After you submit your request, your application will be verified through the NJ Division of Elections website and then processed by the Essex County Clerk’s Office.

• The online Vote By Mail request is for first-time requests only.
• If you are requesting a second ballot, you must use the Second Ballot Request Form, available through the Clerk’s website: www.essexclerk.com
