Having summer fun with science

During the week of July 18th to 22nd, animal expert Vince Sharp of the Turtleback Zoo visited the Essex Fells Summer Camp, and brought a variety of creatures to show the campers including Madagascar roaches, a corn snake, an owl, two types of turtles, and a ferret. The campers learned the importance of all living creatures to our well being, discussed the characteristics and habits of the animals, and talked about the animals that we have right in our own backyards.

That same week Explore Science concluded their classes with our pre-school group. The young campers created their own play-dough insects while discussing the role and characteristics of these amazing little creatures in our world.
